Poker is not a game of chance or fortune it is rather a game of science and know how, when playing poker you have to have a clear mind and be able to think about what your opponent is doing and how to analyze the following move. This is 1 of the many reasons why getting intoxicated at a poker game may well make you lose all of your tough earned money. So let us take a look at some of the independent reasons as to the mistakes people do when they are intoxicated.
Forgetting the card suits
Forgetting the car suits is an absolute must, when you are drunk you tend to forget which cards are actually good and which ones are not. So just try to stay sober to win good volumes of money.
Just not Paying Due Attention
By not paying care you will not know what is going on around you and you are more then likely to end up betting more chips then necessary. Keep a clear mind and know exactly it is you want to do.
Not Being Able to Call a Bluff
Calling a bluff in a poker game is again something that is essential to win a game, particularly if you are competing against master players, again you should try to make sure that you are sober enough to be able to tell a great bluff that will win over your opponents that you have a great set of cards.
All in all playing poker should be done with a clear head, you can be certain that a lot of your opponents will be specifacally trying to push the alcohol onto you in order for you to throw away your game. But make sure this does not happen as this is how a lot of people actually end up losing huge amounts of money not to mention their mortgages and families.

In this free poker lesson I would like to focus on the importance of managing your poker bankroll, but why is it so critical to your success? So the point here is you can’t continue playing if you have no money, no money means no funny. Mismanagement of their poker bankrolls is probably the #1 reason why so many players fail. People are trying to win too much too fast which usually results in many redeposits back into the poker sites.
For those of you that are not familiar with the term bankroll, this free poker lesson will explain it all, basically it is the amount of money that you have put aside to play poker and nothing else. You should never use the money that you need for rent, food or clothing. The best thing is to play with an amount you can afford to lose while you are playing poker. Below are the guidelines that I personally recommend and use when it comes to managing my bankroll.
Sit n Go’s - Go for 2% of your bankroll for each buy in. For example if you have a $1000 bankroll then you should be playing $20 SNG’s
In Multi Table Tournaments - use 1% of your bankroll for each buy in. Since the Multi Table Tournaments usually only payout the top 10%, you will find yourself cashing less often.
Cash Games - Use no more than 2% of each buy in. For example if you were playing $1/$2 NL, the buy in is usually 100 X Big Blind so in this case $200. In my opinion a bankroll of $10,000 is needed at these levels.
Now I know some of you are saying that this seems a little exaggerated and farfetched, but if you stick to these guidelines then you virtually eliminate the possibilities of having to redeposit ever again in your poker account. Poker can be a roller coaster ride at times and you will inevitably go through some losing periods. Not having enough cash to handle these downswings can force you into making poor decisions due to the added extra pressure. There is something about the old saying “Scared money never wins” it’s so true. Learn more about poker throuh free poker lesson.

You may have heard of the importance of managing your poker bankroll, but why is it so critical to your success? The easy answer to this question is, If you have no money left then you really can’t continue playing. I know it sounds easy, but this is the main reason why so many poker players fail.A lot of players become greedy and want to make to much way too fast which usually ends up in more deposits back into the poker sites.
For those of you that are not familiar with the term bankroll, basically it is the amount of money that you have put aside to play poker and nothing else. It should definitely not be money that you need for the necessities like food, rent or clothing. It should be an amount that you can comfortably afford to use and lose playing poker. Here is what I pesonally use and suggest regarding bankroll management.
SNG (Sit n Go’s) – I use 2% or 1/50th of my bankroll for each buy in. For example if you have a $1000 bankroll then you should be playing $20 SNG’s
Multi Table Tournaments (MTT) – I used 1% or 1/100th of my bankroll for each buy in. The reason for this is that usually in MTT’s they only pay the top 10% so you will be cashing less often and you will have more fluctuations with your overall bankroll.
Cash Games – Use only 2% or 1/50th of each buy in. For example if you were playing $1/$2 NL, the buy in is usually 100 X Big Blind so in this case $200. In my opinion a bankroll of 10K is needed at these levels.
Now I know some of you are saying that this seems a little exaggerated and farfetched, but if you stick to these guidelines then you virtually eliminate the possibilities of having to redeposit ever again in your poker account. Poker can be a roller coaster ride at times and you will inevitably go through some losing periods. These downswings can force you to you make poor poker decisions especially if you don’t have enough money behind you to get through them. The old saying “Scared money is losing money” is so true.

If you have been around poker for some time or even if you are new to the game, you have probably heard the word TILT. In a nutshell, being on TILT means that you are no longer thinking clearly or that something occurred at the table that has upset you. A few things that could set someone on TILT are :
1. Taking a Bad Beat - Getting your money in the pot with the best hand only to be outdrawn by a weaker hand
2. Being shown a Bluff – Sometimes after you fold your opponent will show his terrible hand which can trigger emotions of anger and frustration
3. Drunk Players at the Table – Although it’s fun to play against people when they have been drinking as they tend to make errors, listening to them yap away is enough to upset anyone
4. Trash Talker at the Table - Some use this tactic to throw you off your game. They constantly berate you at the table hoping to get an edge and make you do something stupid to lose all of your chips. (I’m really not a big fan of this approach, but it is effective for some)
That was just a few examples of things that can put you TILT. If for any reason you find yourself TILTING it’s best to take a break and walk away from the table. Poker is a game of making the correct decisions based on incomplete information. If you’re not thinking correctly and making bad decisions then you stand a good chance to lose a lot of money. Having the right “Poker State of Mind” is critical to your long term poker success. Here are some other examples of things to avoid:
1. Avoid playing if you are Tired
2. Don’t play if you are drinking or have been drinking
3. Don’t play if you want to watch TV
4. Don’t answer emails or surf the web
I know sometimes poker can be long in between hands to play so we tend to do other things. If you find yourself getting bored and looking for things to do, my suggestion would be to play a few tables at the same time if you are playing on line. This will increase your chances of getting good starting hands to play and eliminating boredom. You should probably take a break if you find your mind drifting or thinking of other things. There will always be another poker game tomorrow so there is no need to worry.

Of all the decisions made in poker tournaments, a good number of them are rather easy to make. The truth is, even though numbers and common sense often indicate you should play a hand a certain way , there is much more to our personal make-up that complicates these strategies. In fact, we are programmed to reason using every fiber of our being. The skill then, is to manage the all of the data AND feelings you have about any particular hand and use poker tournament strategy.
Now even though I have often advised to leave your feelings and emotions out of the decision making process, that really isn’t quite right, or plausible. Without contradicting myself too much, there will always be part of your decision process fueled by intuition and emotion - and you know what? There is nothing wrong with that! The thing is, you must always fall back on the 10 second rule when making game critical decisions in poker tournaments. When you are faced with a big decision, just start counting to yourself, don’t ruch for the mouse button.
Important online poker tips might seem obvious, but if you thrust into action or respond without thinking, you will often circumvent deeper wisdom and better solutions. This is also where your intuition and instincts can better serve your objective because it gives you an opportunity to tune into what may be unique about this hand or this opponent. Yes, the 10 seconds can be used to determine your best possible odds and payout strategy, but it can also illuminate an obvious bad situation for you. When you start doing this regularly, you are going to have some key moments that you look back on and say, “Wow I made a great play there”. I recently did this at a final table in an SnG MTT on Full Tilt where I went on to win the tournament. Had I not dropped the hand, I would have finished out of the money as only 6 players got paid.
In those 10 seconds use these online poker tips and start asking yourself things like:
What do my true instincts say?
What are the real odds of me having the best hand here?
Can I fold and still have enough left to out-play my opponents?
If I was watching this hand on TV, what would I recommend?
Is this positive EV?
Leave some of these questions on sticky-notes on your monitor when playing in tournaments. If you read even 2 or 3 of them in every tough situation I guarantee that you will start winning money in online poker tournaments. The best poker professionals use these online poker tips and combine all of the information - including intuition and instinct to make profitable decisions.

The term matched betting by definition is a form of arbitrage that allows you to generate risk free profits by using free bets with online betting exchanges. Using an appropriate strategy you should be able to compound a decent amount of profit within the regions of £700 to £1000.
To implement a matched betting method you will need to open a bookmaker account with a free bet promotion, (a free list of bets is available at free bookmaker bets )and a betting exchange account such as betfair or betdaq.
The system works by placing a bet at the bookmaker and then laying (betting against) it off at the betting exchange, when using this method all your doing is hedging your bets in such a way that eliminates risk allowing you to have a risk free bet. The value in this betting method exists because of the ‘free bets’ entity. If online bookmakers were to stop offering them tomorrow this type of risk free bet would become obsolete.
In order to implement matched betting properly you need to place two rounds of bets, the first round consists of a placing a qualifying bet and the second round involves using the free bet stake, which is where you make the money For a free guide on risk free betting take a look at onthesmartmoney.com
A few matched betting tips
When using a matched betting strategy you want to be in a position to squeeze as much value out of the free bets as possible. To do this there are few factors that you can implement to enhance your potential returns. These including taking higher odds I recommend when placing a bet with free bet stake to opt for higher odds at least over 3 in decimal, it is also useful to find events where the odds at a bookmaker are comparatively close to betting exchange lay odds, which is also an important factor when placing qualifying bets too.
